Water Treatment
Raw water is only fit for human consumption after it has
been treated and there is a reduction of bacteria, chemical impurities ensuring
it is clear, odourless and relatively tasteless.

water.
The
installation is based on the simplest filtration technology, using
AQUALITE, a natural volcanic material, very porous (500 m2/g) with pores
of one micron, a UV light to kill the few remaining bacteria and a light
dosing of chlorine as residual effect The quantity added (0,5ppm) has no
influence on the taste nor smell of the water.
Installing a water plant does not require expensive civil work; just
a raw water feed line, a collection tank and a sewer
The machinery is very simple to operate and versatile: It produces drinking water meeting the WHO standard for drinking water produced from dirty raw water. The filtration process is completed by an ion exchange process, reducing the level of heavy metal ammonia and bacteria to an acceptable level for human consumption
The installation is so simple, that it can be run by non qualified personnel after an introduction on the installation. The cleaning of the AQUALITE media is dependent on the raw water quality and consists primarily of back flushing. Also regeneration is carried out with salt, a very common environmentally friendly chemical to restore the ion exchange capacity.
